On May 22 in Osaka, B Block of the Best of the Super Jr. tournament continued with five key matches, intensifying the battle for dominance. The main event featured a high-stakes clash between IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion El Desperado and YOH, one half of the current tag title holders. Their rivalry dates back four years, when YOH suffered a bitter defeat in his first IWGP Junior title challenge against Desperado, a loss that ultimately spurred his growth as a singles competitor. Since then, YOH has bested Desperado twice in tournament action, crediting him for helping shape his in-ring style. Now, with both men holding gold but YOH sitting at three losses, another defeat could eliminate him from contention, while a win for Desperado could push him closer to block leader Nick Wayne.
Taiji Ishimori faces impossible task against Nick Wayne, who leads the block with an impressive debut run.
