The final round of B Block competition in the Best of the Super Juniors 32 will take place at Region Plaza Joetsu in Niigata on May 29, determining who advances to the tournament finals in Ota City. YOH is in a strong position to secure his second career finals appearance if he defeats Taiji Ishimori. However, Ishimori, whose chances for a third final were dashed by SHO’s controversial win in Nagoya, now fights only for pride—both for himself and his faction, the War Dogs. Despite their lengthy careers in NJPW, YOH and Ishimori have only faced each other three times in singles matches, with Ishimori holding a 2-1 advantage. Their most recent encounter was a tag match last October, where Ishimori again prevailed. If he wins tonight, YOH will be eliminated from contention.
IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion El Desperado has approached every tournament match as if it were a title defense, reinforcing his status as champion—though under official rules, he would have lost the belt three times already. To advance, he must win his match and hope YOH either loses or draws against Ishimori in the main event. Robbie Eagles, however, has even less control over his fate. Despite this, he aims to defeat Desperado, a familiar rival, to potentially earn a future title shot. The two have faced off six times in singles competition, including two title matches, with Desperado winning four. Even without a path to the finals, Eagles seeks a statement victory to bolster his standing.
