NJPW New Japan Soul 2025 Day 8 Live, July 4th, 2025, Watch-Wrestling FHD stream

As NEW JAPAN SOUL 2025 reaches its final phase before the G1 Climax, the Nippon Budokan hosts the last *G1 Climax Play-In* matches on July 4. The main event features a high-stakes singles match between Hiroshi Tanahashi and Gabe Kidd, along with a *NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Title* match. The rivalry between Tanahashi and Kidd began when Kidd challenged the Ace at Dominion, and Tanahashi, now in his symbolic final run before retirement at Wrestle Kingdom, accepted without hesitation. Kidd has vowed to make this encounter unforgettable.

Their relationship dates back to Kidd’s early days in NJPW in 2020, when Tanahashi mentored him during the pandemic, offering guidance and support during a difficult mental and professional period. However, upon his return, Kidd’s frustrations with NJPW’s direction led him to join BULLET CLUB War Dogs under David Finlay, adopting a more aggressive persona. Despite their past bond, Kidd now seeks to challenge the established order, even as Tanahashi emotionally supported him during key moments, such as his match against Kenny Omega at the Tokyo Dome.

Now, as the IWGP Global Champion, Kidd has chosen Tanahashi as his first title defense opponent, demanding 100% effort from the retiring legend. Tanahashi, meanwhile, views this match as more than just a title opportunity—it’s about “taking the fire” from Kidd. With both men driven by personal and professional stakes, their clash on July 4 will determine who leaves with both the championship and the burning intensity to carry forward.
