The Best of the Super Juniors (BOSJ) tournament is heating up as all 20 competitors reunite in Hyogo for night nine after separate block matches in Gunma and Osaka. With only the top point scorers from each block advancing to the finals, the competition is intensifying as the league phase nears its conclusion. Every match is crucial, and the pressure is mounting for wrestlers to secure their spot in the finals.

One key matchup features Ryusuke Taguchi taking on IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion El Desperado. Despite Taguchi’s last championship reign being over a decade ago and his last BOSJ finals appearance dating back to 2016, he remains a dangerous opponent. Desperado, though holding a 3-2 career advantage, has had to fight hard for every victory against Taguchi. Currently stuck in a tight B Block standings tie with six points, Desperado is frustrated after a recent loss to YOH. Meanwhile, Taguchi, coming off a defeat to MAO, looks to bounce back and potentially upset the champion.

In A Block, Master Wato faces KUSHIDA in their first singles match since their Young Lion days. Wato currently leads the block after defeating Robbie X in Gunma, but with eight other wrestlers just one win behind, his position is precarious. KUSHIDA, a seasoned veteran, poses a major challenge.
