Wrestling Redzone debuts in Hiroshima during Japan’s Golden Week, headlined by a high-stakes match to crown new IWGP Tag Team Champions. Former four-time champions Bishamon (Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI) face United Empire’s Callum Newman and Great-O-Khan, both of whom have previously held the titles with different partners.
The belts have been vacated twice in five months—first in December due to HENARE’s injury, leading to the Young Bucks and later Tetsuya Naito & Hiromu Takahashi winning them. Newman and Jeff Cobb recently claimed the titles on April 5 but were forced to vacate them after Cobb’s sudden departure from NJPW. A determined Newman vowed to reclaim the tag titles and also target Goto’s IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
With Goto as world champion and O-Khan as the new NJPW World TV Champion, the winners will leave Hiroshima as dual titleholders. The match carries added intrigue due to the recent controversies and the competitive history between the teams, making it a must-watch event during Golden Week.
