The main event features a hardcore match for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship between champion El Desperado and challenger Clark Connors. Despite being separated afterward, Desperado went on to win the Best of the Super Jr. tournament and claimed the title twice—fueling Connors’ determination to defeat him.
During the New Japan Cup, Connors challenged Desperado to a hardcore match, a stipulation both men are familiar with. Desperado, recently scarred from brutal fights against hardcore legends Jun Kasai and Masashi Takeda, accepted confidently. Connors, representing the War Dogs faction, is also experienced in violent bouts, making the outcome unpredictable.
