The G1 tour has begun with an impressive opening weekend in Hokkaido, and the action now moves to Sendai’s Sun Plaza Hall. A Block competitors will face off in their third league matches, marking a crucial point in the tournament as wrestlers aim to establish themselves one-third of the way through.

One of the most notable matchups features Yuya Uemura and Yota Tsuji, who have clashed 51 times in singles competition. Their most significant encounter came during last year’s G1 in Sendai, where Tsuji’s High Fly Flow splash caused Uemura to crash out of the tournament with a torn triceps an injury that may have indirectly propelled Tsuji to the finals. After returning from injury, Uemura sought revenge and a shot at Tsuji’s IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship but fell short, forcing him to reset his ambitions. Now, the two meet again in Sendai, with Uemura looking to complete his comeback while Tsuji aims to send him into a downward spiral. Both men won their first matches but lost their second to Taichi and EVIL, respectively making this a critical battle to see who can reach four points first.
