AEW returns to pay-per-view with WrestleDream in Tacoma, Washington, featuring seven title matches. The main event sees AEW world heavyweight champion Bryan Danielson face Jon Moxley in a highly anticipated grudge match. Danielson, a native of the area, has a personal connection to the venue, as it is close to where he grew up.
Once allies in the Blackpool Combat Club, Danielson and Moxley are now bitter rivals after Moxley and the rest of BCC turned on Danielson. This betrayal culminated in a brutal attack where Moxley suffocated Danielson with a plastic bag. The stakes are high, as not only is the AEW world title on the line, but also Danielson’s career, as he has vowed to retire from full-time wrestling if he loses the championship.
