With the intent to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States, WWE is producing a television documentary, “WWE: Made in America”. As scheduled the program is on USA Network on May 29 following “SmackDown”. In addition the network is broadcasting repeat viewings of the film during June and on July 4. On this project Joe Tessitore is the host besides Matt Braine is the director. It is the goal of the film to show how WWE changed from a business that operated in one geographical area into a large company that provides entertainment to the entire world. By using this narrative, the creators suggest that the history of the company matches the history of the United States over fifty years. Included in the special are interviews with many performers, like Triple H, Cody Rhodes, The Undertaker, Sgt. Booker T or Kane. To support the story, the producers use film from the company archives that is not often seen by the public. And the program contains a performance of “America the Beautiful” by Lilian Garcia to show respect to the nation. For this production, Paul Levesque, Lee Fitting next to Ben Houser are the executive producers – but Brian Decker & Marc Pomarico are also involved as co executive producers.
