Conor McGregor returns to the Octagon for the first time in five years to rematch Max Holloway in the main event of UFC 329 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The two previously met in August 2014 in Boston, when McGregor won by unanimous decision, but both fighters have gone through significant changes since that early-career meeting.
McGregor (22–6) last fought in July 2021 at UFC 264, where he suffered a gruesome broken leg in the first round against Dustin Poirier and has been out of competition since. The former two-division UFC champion is attempting a high-profile comeback against one of the sport’s toughest and most decorated fighters.
Holloway (27–9), a former UFC featherweight and BMF champion widely regarded as one of the greatest featherweights ever, last fought in March at UFC 326, losing the BMF title to Charles Oliveira. UFC 329 marks Holloway’s debut at welterweight (170 pounds) after a career spent at 145 and 155 pounds, adding a fresh wrinkle to the rematch.
UFC 329 takes place Saturday, July 11, with the main card scheduled to start at 9 p.m. ET (6 p.m. PT). The McGregor vs. Holloway ring walks are expected around 11:25 p.m. ET (8:25 p.m. PT); for UK viewers that roughly corresponds to a 2 a.m. BST main-card start and about 4:25 a.m. BST for the headliners. These times are approximate and subject to change.
