NJPW’s first domestic card since the G1, Blue Justice XVI, marks Yuji Nagata’s annual return to his hometown of Togane in Chiba and sets the stage for the upcoming Destruction tour. The main event delivers a historic finale as Nagata faces Hiroshi Tanahashi for the eighteenth and final time, closing the chapter on a rivalry that shaped much of both men’s careers. From Tanahashi’s early struggles against Nagata in the 2000s to their pivotal clashes in tournaments and title bouts, their story has been one of fierce battles evolving into mutual respect. Now, after Tanahashi’s own G1 career ended this summer, the two meet again for the first time in over eight years in what promises to be an emotional and decisive last encounter, with Nagata aiming to finally earn a victory over the “Ace” after more than a decade.
