On April 17, a special press conference featured Toru Yano and Super Sasadango Machine, alongside NJPW Chairman Naoki Sugabayashi, NJPW World Producer Yuji Shimojima, DDT’s Sanshiro Takagi, and Wrestle Universe’s Akito. They announced a unique event scheduled for June 9, to be broadcast on both Wrestle Universe and NJPW World as a pay-per-view. The event, yet to be named, will center around a single match between Yano and Sasadango Machine, described as an “all-out war” and the first of its kind between NJPW and DDT. Both wrestlers emphasized the significance of the match, highlighting the legacies and histories of their respective companies.
Sasadango Machine expressed pride in representing DDT, stating that he debuted in the promotion and embodies the kind of wrestler only DDT could produce. Meanwhile, Yano dismissed any suggestion of improved relations between NJPW and DDT, despite Hiroshi Tanahashi’s recent match against Konosuke Takeshita in Chicago, insisting that hostility still existed between the two companies.
