The end of September in NJPW brings the annual spectacle at Kobe World Hall as Destruction sets the stage for January’s Tokyo Dome. This year’s card is headlined by Zack Sabre Jr., defending his IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against Ren Narita. While Sabre and TMDK have largely overcome HOUSE OF TORTURE in the past, Narita has repeatedly upset Sabre, most notably during the 2024 New Japan Cup and G1 Climax 35. Their clashes show Narita abandoning H.O.T’s reliance on interference in favor of a punishing grappling style that targets Sabre’s vulnerabilities, particularly his knee. With heated brawls escalating throughout the Road to Destruction tour, all eyes now turn to Kobe, as G1 winner Konosuke Takeshita awaits the victor’s challenge at King of Pro-Wrestling.
