AEW’s Forbidden Door returns as a major cross-promotional event, once again partnering with New Japan Pro-Wrestling and now also featuring talent from CMLL and Stardom. The show takes place on June 28 at the SAP Center in San Jose, bringing together a wide range of international wrestling stars for one of the year’s most diverse cards.

The main parts of the event are the final matches for the Men’s & Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournaments. In the final for the women, Mercedes Moné competes against Maya World. To win this match means the person receives a match for the AEW Women’s World Championship at the All In event. At that time Thekla might still hold the championship title. For the men Swerve Strickland or Will Ospreay are opponents again because they are rivals. If a wrestler wins, he secures a match for the AEW World Championship at Wembley Stadium.

And a match with twelve men inside a steel cage features a group that Mark Briscoe leads against a group that MJF assembled. By winning this match, Briscoe could become a person who people consider for a future match for the AEW World Championship.
